The following are the proposed topics for FHN Conferences in 2008, we would like you to let us know which topics you are interested in, so that we can ensure we organise events to reflect the interests of our Members. 31 March - 2 April 2008 - 5th European Symposium on Enzymes in Grain Processing The conference will provide a comprehensive overview of enzymes in grain based foods and beverages from fundamental research topics to industrial applications

Membership of the Food & Health Network has an annual cost of £600 (+VAT).
  • All members are eligible to attend any Cluster Event for which a Meeting Attendance Fee of £50 (+VAT)/delegate is applicable.
  • Non F&HN Members may also attend Cluster Meetings, this cost will continue to be £250 (+VAT).

Scientists question folic acid fortification

Low does of flavanoid in food lowers heart disease risk

IADSA fights for higher recommended levels of additives

Proposals on the suggested amounts of artificial colourings in food supplements are being drawn up for Codex because the current limits are too low, according to the International Alliance for Dietary/Food Supplement Associations (IADSA). New centre to tackle £20 billion cost of diet-related diseases

A new Centre for Preventive Medicine is launched in Norwich to tackle diet related diseases that are costing the NHS up to a quarter of its budget. The Centre brings together basic research from two internationally renowned research institutes, medical research by university scientists and clinical research conducted in a hospital environment. EFSA begins assessment on nanotechnology -

The growth and complexity of nanotechnology in food applications poses new challenges for the European Food Safety Authority (EFSA), meeting to begin discussions on its regulation and risk assessment. more

EU Processors press to drop proposal to charge fees for risk assessments
